The Project Stages and Activities
The Project Stages are as follows:
• Selection phase
• Curriculum development phase
• Training phases
• Pitching phase
• Mentorship,monitory,and alumni network phase
• Setup IT infrastructure for businesses phase
Project Activities:
1. Entrepreneur Selection (1 month):
Identify and select 10 companies and organizations who demonstrate a commitment to their business and willingness to learn and apply digital skills.
o Promotion of DreamDay Technology Fellowship program.
o Accepting and reviewing applications based on eligibility criteria.
o Selection of 20 entrepreneurs, from 10 companies and organizations, 2 from each company and organization.
2. Curriculum Development:
Develop a comprehensive digital skills training curriculum tailored to the needs and experience levels of the selected entrepreneurs. This curriculum should cover topics such as:
o Communication and Research
o Accounting tools
o Social media management
o Online safety and security (social media, email, safely browsing the internet, managing password, browser extension, and bookmarks)
o Image/Audio/Video customization (Flyer)
o Pitch and presentation tools
o Data storage, backup, and document editing (converting and editing documents, files to pdf, merging pdf documents, editing pdf, adding signature, deleting pdf page, scanning documents with phone, protecting pdf and reordering pdf documents).
o Project management tools
3. Training Phases:
Conduct a series of online training workshops and sessions led by qualified instructors and digital experts. These workshops should be hands-on and practical, allowing participants to apply their knowledge immediately. The project will also allow guest facilitator to train on any of the course outlines in the project.
o Launch of the online platform, registering participant on DreamDay Academy (eLearning).
o Self-peaced learning covering a range of digital skills and tools with few live sessions which compulsory for all participants to attend.
o Regular assessments and progress tracking.
o Support and guidance for participants.
4. Pitching Phase:
All teams are required to do a ten munities pitch with slides to 3 or 5 changemakers in Sierra Leone about their business, with key focus on impact to their communities.
o Participants develop their business ideas and pitches.
o A pitch competition to assess and select 3 winning teams based on impact.
o The winning team receives a one-page website to enhance their online presence.
o Participants will receive other offers from partners.
5. Mentorship, monitory, and alumni network Phase (11 months):
Pair each team with a digital mentor or work directly with the project facilitators by providing ongoing guidance and support, helping them implement what they’ve learned in their businesses. The mentorship and monitory will last for 11 months, starting immediately after the end of the training. We will also establish an alumni network to facilitate ongoing support and collaboration.
6. Setup IT Infrastructure for businesses phase (1 months):
All teams that complete the training are entitled to have a very standard IT infrastructure by DreamDay Technology.
o IT experts from DreamDay Technology will collaborate with the 10 startups to design and implement their IT infrastructure.
o Regular follow-up to ensure effective IT system operation.
o Certification and graduation of participants.
o Resource Library: Create a resource library containing digital tools, templates, and guides to support them entrepreneurs in their ongoing digital efforts.
